Noa Defesche is a Rotterdam based designer from the Netherlands. As a graduated graphic designer, she has a special interest in printmaking, letters and signs and architectural aesthetics to be found in grids, façades, floor plans and street scenes.
Photography is the starting point of her work. A growing collection of photos which she has mainly shot abroad forms an archive from which she selects her materials. She analyzes these images and breaks them down to individual elements like doors, windows, street signs or abstract patterns and structures. With these elements she builds new imaginary buildings and towers.
Her collages and illustrations are characterized by the use of street typography and the repetition of shapes. The beauty of the repetition continues to fascinate her. In terms of technique and colors, the collages are very recognizable because they are mostly produced with a Risograph.
