Emilia Wharfe

Behind the Art

Emilia Wharfe is a Finnish-English illustrator and animator, based in Cornwall. Her artistic practice combines illustration and animation, drawing inspiration from folk life, slow living, nature, and everyday rituals. She pieces together imagined landscapes and emotional observations drawn from memory.

Emilia balances humour with a sense of longing, creating symbolic, narrative-driven imagery that feels both playful and reflective. Through simplified forms and quiet storytelling, her drawings explore the emotional weight carried by ordinary objects, gestures, and moments. Her work is intended to move gently through a home, offering small moments of recognition, curiosity, and reflection.
