Through bold, emotional compositions, Bravebirdie explores empathy, adulthood, and transformation.
Read moreBravebirdie is the artistic identity of Olena Tolstokora, a Ukrainian visual artist originally from Kharkiv, now based in Vancouver, Canada. Her creative practice has been shaped by both personal transition and global upheaval, informing a body of work that is deeply emotional, resilient, and reflective. Working across digital art, painting, and drawing, she has developed a multidisciplinary approach that allows her to move fluidly between mediums and ideas.
Bravebirdie explores themes of adulthood, empathy, hope, and the lived realities of war. Light becomes a metaphor for endurance and transformation, something fragile yet persistent. Her art invites viewers to sit with complexity, to feel deeply, and to recognize light as a force that endures even in the darkest of times.
