Based on the south coast of England, contemporary figurative artist Jenny Tarr shapes her practice around expressive, line-led studies of identity, clothing, and the ways we take up space. Drawn to the individuality and presence of women, she frames clothing as a language of its own, a clash of print, shape, and line that reveals personality and quiet confidence.

Working with bold, gestural marks, Jenny uses pose, pattern, and colour to capture a feeling rather than every detail. Playful printmaking runs through her process: hand-cut potato prints build unexpected patterns and beautifully imperfect textures into her paintings, creating compositions that feel at once spontaneous and entirely self-assured.
